The Italian Bakery has been shipping Potica since 1965. Joe and Bette prepare and ship Potica to addresses all over the world. Bette says that a good deal of the bakery's holiday Potica business comes from the same folks every year. Many of them grew up on the Iron Range, or have parents who grew up here who brought them home for the holidays. Some of them were introduced to Potica through friends' dinner parties, or during a fishing trip up this way. Many of our customers have come to us through "word of mouth." But we've also sent Potica to soldiers in the Gulf War, to students studying in Beijing, and to old friends across the country. "We've met the nicest people from this mail order list," Bette says. "Many of them will make a special point to stop in the bakery to say hello when they are in our area." Italian Bakery's Potica stays fresh with refrigeration and freezing.
